Blogging funk

Don't know why, but I've been in a blogging funk. I've still been reading others, although not as many as usual, but I just couldn't get myself to write on my own.

Our oldest three are doing fine and living on their own. Joseph is almost done with his "second" curriculum for the year. We are STILL behind on math though. I'm thinking I may get him a tutor. I seem to not be able to explain things to him in a way that he can remember/comprehend, so maybe someone different might just help him get over the hump, I'll have to pray about it a bit more. He's having fun with his gym class and co-op. He's been having a busy social life with various friends lately, which is fun for him.

Anah is doing terrific. She is participating in her speech class at the elem. school. She isn't speaking, but is doing the crafts and playing on the playground. At church she is staying with us during church service, but goes to Sunday school on Sunday and Wens. with the kids! She doesn't always do things, but at least she is staying without me! Co-op is also progressing well. She is staying in the preschool where she is playing with blocks and play doh and interacting with her teacher, Louisa, Miki, her friend with DS, two typical preschoolers and Jonathan. She is having fun outside on our s wings and slide and has been a little helper in the yard. She enjoys the beach and playing in the sand and throwing rocks in the lake. She is making more verbal sounds, but no words yet. Her comprehension grows more each day.

Jonathan is also doing terrific! He is walking all over and it is now his primary mode of moving. He will still crawl at times and crawls at lightening speed. He is bouncing on the mini trampoline, but his feet aren't leaving the mat yet, but he is getting the idea. He likes to "dance", that consists of walking quickly in circles, lol. He gets laughing so hard he can't even move, he's a limp noodle on the floor. He's vocalizing a lot, it's usually: ada, dad, da are his most common sounds, he does say Mom and Mom mom. He loves watching fast moving sports on tv and gets so excited he can barely stand himself, lol. His latest thing is taking his clothes off, unfortunately, it's not when I want him to! He keeps working his pants or shorts off. His shoes and socks have been long gone for quite some time now. He can get his shirt off sometimes. He's working on trying to unsnap his onesie, I pray he doesn't figure that out any time soon, because I have no doubt the diaper will be right behind it!

We still haven't gotten Anah's medicaid, at least another couple months, so she can't see an eye specialist or have her oral surgery until then, since our co pays are over 1500 for the dental work, and she doesn't appear to have any visual problems, or we would bring her sooner. Jonathan's special glasses didn't fit, so we got another couple pairs from Specs4us to try, then we'll return the two that we don't want. He also had to wait for the optical dept. to get in some "medicaid" frames, we will use those glasses as back up, we have to pay for the lenses for the other glasses, medicaid won't put lenses in those frames instead, go figure. Anyway, getting the frames directly from Specs4us and then getting lenses here is still cheaper by about $100 than getting them from another optical shop that stocks the frames.

We've been busy with therapies, homeschooling, church and co-op. Tomorrow our children are getting dedicated at church, it should be a blessing! Mom and Dad are coming for it and then are staying for Mother's day. We are having tossed salad, stuffed manicotti (I made it earlier) and pork chops on the grill, this way Bob can cook for Mom and I ;o) . I'm blessed to have great children, an awesome husband and terrific parents! My mother in laws birthday was yesterday, unfortunately we can't be with her this weekend, she's in Philly, so we sent her some plants which she will be able to transplant at her home or at the cottage.

Today we may have a thunder storm, I hope so, I love thunder and lightening storms, it will be our first of the season, so here's hoping.

sounds like everything is going wonderfully well at your house! and don't worry about bloggers-block;) it happens to all of us... i've been known to take a few months off at a time! the main thing is to enjoy it and not let it become a burden... heaven knows we've all got enough of those, right?

have a blessed mother's day, dear♥
