I've had a great weekend so far. Friday and Saturday I went to Women of Faith with my best friend and her mom. We stayed over night in a hotel, even though we live close to where WOF was held. It is our one night away without husbands or children. We eat breakfast out once, lunch at WOF and dinner twice. We laugh and cry throughout the entire conference and it carries over through our meals and our time in the hotel. My BFF and I need very little encouragement to do either, we both LOVE laughing and being goofy as well as enjoy a good cry and are very empathetic to others.
Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife Mary Beth were there Friday night, they shared about the loss of their daughter Maria to a tragic accident two years ago, as well as the journey to recovery they have been on since that time. They are both open and honest, sharing their grief and joy, in the hopes that they may be able to minister to others through this tragedy. I don't think there was a dry eye in the auditorium. Patsy Clairmont and Anita Renfroe had us laughing until our sides ached and we were not only blessed by the music of Steven Curtis Chapman, but also the music of Mandisa and Sandi Patty, boy, can those ladies sing!
I'm tired out now and ready to go to bed early since we have to get up for church early. I plan on having a wonderfully lazy day Monday since Anah doesn't have school and Jonathan doesn't have therapy. The kids did well without Momma for a couple days and my dh appeared to have survived just fine, although he said he missed me....awww, isn't he the sweetest!?
