Well, it's been about two weeks and we haven't had any boogers...that ended today. My darling little one is sick again. We've had the surgery to remove his adenoids and get tubes put in his ears scheduled twice, both times it's been cancelled due to Jonathan's illnesses. First time it was an inflammation of his lungs, second time was Scarlet Fever. I've just rescheduled for the third time, can't get in until end of Oct., and I'll probably be in VN getting Anah then! I explained my situation to the scheduler so she only "penciled" me in. When I know when I need to travel to get Anah I can finalize the date.
PJ got a pleasant surprise today. He found out his college tuition will be covered by financial aid for the next semester and he is getting reimbursed for the last semester from financial aid, so he can give us back the money he borrowed to pay it. I am particularly thankful because it was some of Anah's adoption money and he was going to have to take a loan out to repay us if his financial aid didn't cover it. I would love to be able to pay his college tuition for him, but disability and a retirement pension don't allow for that. But we do help him with his car, pay his car insurance and give him a monthly allowance. He usually works, but is out of a job right now, he is waiting for a position in the local hospital to open up, that should be within a month or so.
I don't feel guilty about not paying for his college, I had to pay for my own and work, but I would like to be able to help a bit more. But he knows we do all we can and when you work for something yourself it is that much sweeter when you achieve it. He has even said that himself, he says he can tell the difference between the kids that get school paid for by their parents and those that have to work for it and/or take out their own loans for it. The ones that work for it themselves study harder and seem to care more. They are usually more focused and have a better idea what direction they want to head in.
Joseph spent the day "exploring" with some of our neighbors. It's really just in the neighbors back yard, but to them it was very exciting! They were attacked by a pricker bush and he had to rescue one of the girls with long hair that got caught in it. He is a sweet boy and is always so curious about nature and life in general. He has really enjoyed the Olympics. We've been letting him stay up late every night so he can watch it with us. It can get quite intense in our household as we cheer on the various US teams/individuals!
I am feeling exceedingly tired, my insomnia has kicked in this past week. It's been 3:30-4:30am each morning before I can fall asleep. And then I'm usually up by 8:30 so I can get the baby ready for his therapies. I purposely wouldn't let myself nap today, I did the past two days and I'm sure that didn't help (although an hour shouldn't have made much difference). I just have a lot on my mind, it's so hard to turn it off, I wish I had a switch, lol
