I'm Leavin' On a Jet Plane....

" And hopin' I'll be back BEFORE Dec. 23". That's right, I got my flight to go get Anah!!! I leave early am Dec. 8 get in VN LATE eve. of Dec. 9 and have a return flight booked for late eve. Dec 22, and get in late evening of the 23rd. If everything gets done earlier we will try and get an earlier flight out, but if not, at least we have a return flight before Christmas!

I'm totally dreading such long flights! But at least the one with Anah is shorter, so that helps. I should be able to see her and have our Giving and Receiving ceremony on the 10th, if not, then the 11th, she will be with me after that. PLEASE pray for an easy transition for her! I don't want her to be afraid. I know things will be so strange, a strange woman called "Mommy" who takes her away from all she knows, to strange places!

Since I didn't want to wait until after Christmas to travel, I will be going alone. Our adoption worker has spent the most part of the summer and fall in VN helping families bring their children home. She has been home a short time, is a new Grandma and with the holidays and the cost, she is not able to return at this time. I will not be without help though! I will be met by the "main" helper (like a 4th son) to our adoption worker and he and his brother will bring me everywhere I need go, file all my paperwork and translate for me. If I want to go sight seeing a friend of RM, who is American and speaks fluent VN, will bring me all around. I don't imagine I'll eat out much, not by myself with Anah, but I will enjoy the time getting to know my daughter in our hotel room or places near by.

I guess I'll have to do most of my Christmas shopping over in VN! Now I'm on a scramble to get the rest of the "last minute" paperwork done so all will run smoothly when I get there. Most of the needed paperwork is for the US immigration over in VN, they require more than VN (for the departing part I mean). Hopefully I'll get some shopping done before I leave, but I have so much to get set at home for everyone before I depart, and I won't be home until Wens. I will get it all done, by the grace of God and in His power, not my own.

I have to send off a couple of emails and then I'm heading to bed early (for me anyway, by 12:30am). I have another early day tomorrow and much stuff to get accomplished. I ask for your prayers for everything to go smoothly, safe travels, no glitches and mostly for my darling daughter, that she adapts easily and with minimal stress.

What a blessed Christmas this will be! Thank you Lord for Your perfect timing!
