Even though I'm not cooking Thanksgiving dinner until Saturday, I had to get a jump on things today since I won't be home tomorrow all day or Friday. The two pumpkin pies are in the oven, the potatoes, turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce are ready to get cooked Sat. Still have to get gravy and rolls, will probably do green beans and corn for the veg.
I also made four sweet breads tonight. Three for church on Sunday (it's our fifth Sunday, so we have a light snack with coffee) and one for home on Saturday with a cup of tea (we're from Scotland, so like our tea ;o) ). Two banana and two pumpkin breads are cooled and in the fridge, I even made cinnamon rolls (store bought) for snack tonight, figured might as well while the oven is on!
Got some groceries today, picked up paint for Anah's furniture, curtain rods for her room, dropped off things to Good Will, got a prescription from the pharmacy, got a pair of comfy shoes for Vietnam (I wear sandals as long as possible then go right to boots, lol), filled the car up with gas, picked up the family and still made it to church on time tonight! Pretty good, of course it's almost too easy when you don't have any kids with you, lol.
I made two appointments with the children's cardiology center, one for a follow up for Jonathan in early Feb. and the other for an initial eval. for Anah in Jan. I just realized I might have to reschedule hers since it's about the time we are dropping PJ off at college, we'll see, (so much for getting ahead, ha).
Well, it's 1:22am, and I have to wait til the pies are done, think I'll go pack my overnight bag before I forget.
Wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving. I know I have so much to be thankful for: eternal salvation, wonderful husband, great children, terrific family, awesome friends, Godly church family, warm home, food on the table, creature comforts, steady income, religious freedom, living in a free country and so many other things, too numerous to count. May you all feel so blessed and thankful, enjoy your day.
