It was one of "those" days. Got up and got Jonathan fed, bathed, changed and ready for the day. Kept prodding Joey to get ready for his day and start his school work. I had several phone calls to place regarding medical and therapy things for Jonathan. Reviewed my lesson I have to teach for children's church tonight. My hubby came in about noonish and said PJ's car probably wouldn't be fixed in time for him to go to class this afternoon, but that he was going to take the only working vehicle to go get brake fluid for it to try and fix it.
PJ wasn't able to get a ride to college, it is a couple counties away and no one lives out at the lake near us, and even if they did, no one has classes the same time as him. So, once hubby got back by 12:40ish, PJ, Jonathan and I jumped in the van and took off, I dropped PJ off at school at 1:25, class starts at 1:30, Jonathan and I then took off for downtown Rochester for his post-op visit to follow up on his adenoidectomy and ear tubes. We got there at 2:16, our appt. was for 2:15! We were in there a total of 10 minutes TOPS! Praise God, everything is fine, he has healed well, his adenoids were HUGE according to the doctor and the tubes and ears look great, come back in six months.
After that I wanted to get gas in the city, it is .50 less per gallon than it is out near us. I filled up, fed Jonathan in the car (I parked first ;o) ), then went through a drive through for my lunch, NOT my favorite. Then I started towards the Pharmacy to pick up Jonathan's eye ointment...oh, I forgot to mention, Jonathan woke up with pink eye so I called the doc. this am, she was kind enough to call in a script without me having to drag him in. I called my dh to see if he needed me to pick up a part for PJ's car, he did, so he was going to call the auto store to make sure they had the part and have it ready so I could pick it up on my way home. After several phone calls, he called back, it's a part that needs to be ordered, 7-10 days and $150-$230! WHAT??!! How would we manage with one car and all the running around I have to do and college way in the opposite direction every day? I started praying. My dh called me back, after I had picked up the prescription, and told me he found the part at a junk yard, but he had to go get it off the car by 5:00pm, it was 4:15 and I had to get home, 15mins away and the Bob would have to get to the junk yard 15-20 mins. away.
I flew into the driveway, grabbed Jonathan and his stuff and Bob took off. By the time I got Jonathan changed and laying down I realized there was no way I was going to be able to go to church AND pick up PJ from college at the same time, while Bob stayed home and fixed PJ's car and watched Jonathan, who couldn't come to church because of his pink eye! I called my girlfriend and she would cover the lesson for me, but I had to drop the lesson plan off at church on my way by to pick up PJ! Bob got in, I got in the car and headed off to church, I dropped the lesson off and headed towards the college. PJ couldn't get out quite as early as he thought, so I had 1/2hr. to kill. I went to Pebbles Dept. store, they were having a big sale and I had 2 20% off coupons as well. I had hoped to get two "bigger" gifts for the ladies over in VN, I have the six smaller ones already. I had wanted to get Down Syndrome awareness bracelets but wasn't sure if I had the time to order them before I have to leave (not sure when that is either). I looked at jewelery, wallets, things like that, but I don't know if the ladies have pierced ears or not, so that leaves necklaces and bracelets. Just when I had given up hope I found two Swarko...(spelling) crystal bracelets that had three crystals on each side of a larger crystal heart, they looked just like some DSA bracelets I had seen on line!!! There was exactly 2 and I needed 2! They were a good price already, were 20% off and then I had the coupon for 20% off, so I got them for 40% off each! They are perfect!
I left and was driving to get PJ when my dh called, he had got the part for the car installed and it worked fine, PJ could drive it in the am to school! Praise God! Why don't I start praying earlier? Why don't I pray BEFORE things get crazy? You would think I would have learned by now!!! Oh well, I'm so glad God is patient, forgiving and full of grace!
