24 of 31 for 21

This post isn't specifically about DS, but the same thing happens to children with DS in many of the countries in the world. Diana was one of the girls that Reece's Rainbow was advocating for and raising grant money for, she had CP. How can I convey the importance of grants for these children?

There are many families, probably MORE than enough, that would love to adopt these children, but the funds needed prohibit it. I don't know many people that are lead by God and willing to adopt these special children, that have an extra $20,000-30,000 hanging around. If you do, PLEASE, let me know and/or send them to the Reeces Rainbow website.

This is an email I got today from the director of RR, please read it and pray for the children. And if God puts it on your heart to help these children, PLEASE, don't think that your donation, prayers or time will go unnoticed, God sees it all.

"All, many of you have donated and prayed for Diana, who has severe CP.

We have learned that she was transferred from the baby house months ago, and we have no info about her presence at Torez (where she was sent). We can't confirm she has passed away, but they do not tube feed at the institutions, and she required a feeding tube to survive.

Your prayers for her, as she has truly had to *endure* her short 5 years of life, and that if she has indeed passed away, that she is healthy and happy with her Father in Heaven now.

Diana (4)

Girl, Born March 2, 2004

Little Diana is living on borrowed time. She recently "celebrated" her 5th birthday, but in an Eastern European orphanage, that is nothing to celebrate. Miss Diana was born with severe Cerebral Palsy, and will likely not survive her transfer to the institution. She is blessed to still be in the baby house. One of our own adoptive families who visited with her in March 2008 shared this with us about Diana: " This child has several medical problems and was described to me as difficult although it is based only on her diagnosis. She has Cerebral Palsy and is fed via tube. She spends her days tucked in a crib without any stimulation other than feedings and occasional diaper changes. Her crib is situated where she cannot even see the other children in the room, just the side of a table through her crib bars. I was asked whether or not I even wanted her picture but there is no way I could leave without it. I hope that her forever family is looking for her right now!"

We are so prayerful that there is a forever family out there for every single one of the children we share here at Reece's Rainbow...and maybe even one for little Diana. Is it you?

Please contact Andrea directly for more information

I have $500 in my grant fund towards the cost of my adoption!

Diana's adoption grant of $500 has now been shared with Miss Olga, who is also struggling with CP, living in the same baby house, and facing institutionalization very soon.

I had seen this child listed on Reece's Rainbow and was praying for the poor little thing... I think I actually mentioned her to you last co-op. It is so sad that she has been moved... but perhaps now she has been released from this life of pain at last. Praise the Lord.
