Narrow Eustachian tubes, ugh, so common in people with DS. Jonathan seems to go from one ear infection to the other. Children with DS have trouble getting rid of the fluid that can build up in their ears d/t the narrow tubes, that's why many get frequent ear infections.

Jonathan also has narrow sinuses and gets frequent sinus infections. We've had surgery scheduled to remove his adenoids and get tubes put in his ears, but he got sick just before surgery both times, once with a lung infection and the other with Scarlet fever. He's now scheduled for October 22, so we'll just hope and pray he stays healthy long enough to get it done, he just finished antibiotics for another ear infection...yuck.

Other than sinus/ear infections he doesn't have many other things that some kids with DS have. He does have a very tiny PDA that only showed up on echocardiogram, the cardiologist thinks it will finish closing, but if not, he'll put a coil in to close it up.

So really, he's a relatively healthy little guy, praise God!

Anah has more cardiac issues, but we don't have an exact diagnosis yet, we'll get it once she's home. We really don't have much health info on her, so she'll have a good check up when she gets home.
