Jonathan has his surgery scheduled for Oct. 22. He will get his adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears. This is the third time it's been scheduled. The first time was cancelled due to a lung infection he got and the second time was due to his getting scarlet fever. I am praying he stays healthy long enough to get it done!
With the cold season coming I'd like to have it done before he starts the entire fall/winter/spring with constant ear infections and sinus infections. He's only been infection free for about a month straight during the summer, otherwise he seems to go from one infection to the other :o( Poor baby! I'm worried about him developing a hearing loss due to all the infections. He has already failed his hearing test once, but they were unsure if it was due to wax build up and narrow tubes or actual hearing loss. We'll retest shortly after surgery to get an accurate test.
I also have an appointment with the school district next Tuesday. It is for Jonathan's Early Intervention Plan because he will turn 3 in Jan. Even though I plan on homeschooling him, he will continue to get services paid for through the school district, at least until he is five. After that we may have to private pay, we will see. I am bringing Jonathan with me, thanks to Meredith's input, and our service coordinator will also be there. To say I am not looking forward to it is an understatement, but I will go in with a positive attitude and a gentle spirit. They just better not mess with this Momma and her baby! ;o)
