Today I'm off to the Dept. of Social Services...can you say YUCKY! I'm not sure about your DSS, but ours leaves a bit to be desired. I realize it's a difficult job and there are many needs out there that need met, believe me, I'm not unfeeling, on the contrary. I was a Community Health Nurse for 11 years, I've been out there, I've seen the needs, I've fought for the needs. What aggravates me is people with better clothes than me, fancy high tech. cell phones, new shiny cars and they are getting benefits! How does that work?! Anyway, sorry for the mini soap box, but I just detest going to these places and waiting in line for hours for something you have an appointment for, have all the documents completed correctly and are entitled to yet still have to jump through hoops.

Please don't get me wrong, I am soooo thankful that I can get Medicaid for Jonathan. It will cover all his co pays and such that is not covered by our Tricare. I also want it in place so that as he grows and hopefully becomes an independent young man, he will have all his services already in place and it should make the transitions easier. We never know when the Lord will call us home, so I want everything as "easy" as possible for those that are left behind. May sound morbid, but I've seen too much in my 18 years as a nurse to not plan ahead.

Ok, so I'm off, I'll hopefully be home sometime today ;o) and will update on my "fun" (note sarcasm) trip to DSS.
